The OnePlus 16 now has a confirmed launch date, with the company revealing that the flagship will make its debut in China on 12 October. The announcement follows recent disclosures about the handset’s colour options and full camera specifications.
The launch date was unveiled during the 2026 OnePlus Gaming Conference held in China, an event at which the manufacturer also outlined the gaming credentials of its forthcoming flagship.
Performance and Gaming Features
Confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, the OnePlus 16 has been positioned firmly as a device built for gaming. The company has revealed that the phone will feature a display with a 185Hz refresh rate, alongside support for native 185fps gaming in a selection of titles including Arena Breakout, Nizhan: Future, Naruto Mobile and Peace Elite.
To bolster its gaming and display performance, the handset will incorporate a custom display chip, a dedicated chip for touch response, and a further chip devoted to connectivity. Beyond gaming scenarios, the OnePlus 16 is confirmed to support a system-wide 165Hz refresh rate.
Camera Setup and Availability
On the imaging front, the OnePlus 16 will be equipped with a 200MP primary rear camera paired with a 50MP periscope telephoto camera. The device will be offered in three colour options when it goes on sale.
The OnePlus 16 will launch in China on 12 October, with the handset arriving alongside its confirmed specifications for display, chipset and camera hardware.
