Honor Magic9 Pro Max: 200MP Cameras, ARRI Tuning
The Honor Magic9 Pro Max lands with dual 200MP cameras, ARRI tuning, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and an 8,800mAh battery.

The Honor Magic9 Pro Max has arrived as the brand’s top-tier flagship, ticking the boxes expected of a late 2026 Android device. It combines the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, dual 200MP cameras, and a sizeable 8,800mAh Si-C battery with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Honor is also positioning the handset as a professional-grade video tool through its growing partnership with German camera maker ARRI.

Camera system and ARRI tuning

The Magic9 Pro Max features a 23mm equivalent 200MP main camera built around a 1/1.28-inch sensor with an f/1.6 aperture. It is joined by an 85mm equivalent 200MP periscope telephoto lens using a 1/1.4-inch sensor and offering 3.7x optical zoom. A 12mm equivalent 50MP ultrawide completes the trio.

Both the main and telephoto lenses use CIPA 8.0 gimbal-level image stabilisation. All three sensors benefit from ARRI image science, with ARRI colour profiles and cinematic video filters that adjust colour grading with a single tap to match the look of ARRI cinematic cameras. The phone also supports ARRI LogC3 Curve recording with full 10-bit colour depth, alongside recording in ARRI’s Wide Gamut 3 colour space.

Honor offers an optional teleconverter kit with a 500mm lens attachment, plus a hand-held SmallRig camera cage that supports attachment points for accessories such as grips, LED flashes and microphones.

Display, software and availability

Beyond the cameras, the Magic9 Pro Max carries a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1,320 x 2,868px resolution and a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate. It delivers a global peak brightness of 2,000 nits and a 10,000-nit local peak brightness, achievable only on an isolated spot during HDR video playback. Honor advertises an updated NanoCrystal Shield display protection with additional silicon nitride layers and an anti-reflective coating.

The device runs MagicOS 11 based on Android 17 and carries IP69K ingress protection. It is available in Shadow Black, Glacier Silver and Moss Green.

Pricing in China starts at CNY 6,499 (around £720) for the 12/256GB configuration and reaches CNY 8,499 (around £940) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage version. Honor has not yet detailed international availability and pricing.
