The iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable, is drawing scrutiny from buyers after an early T-Mobile listing revealed a trade-in deal that falls short of what iPhone 18 Pro owners received. The listing offers £740 (around EUR 891) in total trade-in credit, roughly £150 less than the up to £890 (around EUR 1,069) available on the iPhone 18 Pro.
The offer surfaced through Apple’s own carrier checkout and was shared within an online community. It lists the credit on the Experience Beyond 2.0 plan for both new and existing customers, bringing the Duo down to about £20.50 a month over 36 months.
How the T-Mobile iPhone Duo offer compares
Apple’s carrier offers page also shows a £890 credit from AT&T, which matches that network’s iPhone 18 Pro deal. Verizon is not yet listed. T-Mobile has not formally announced its Duo deals, so the figures could change before pre-orders open on 16 October.
The wider contrast is with Samsung. T-Mobile offered up to £1,410 (around EUR 1,693) off the Galaxy Z Fold 8 with a trade-in and a new Experience Beyond line. The gap may reflect manufacturer contributions to the discount, though this remains unconfirmed.
The iPhone Duo starts at £1,480 (around EUR 1,781), so the £740 credit covers about half of the handset. On the £890 (around EUR 1,068) iPhone 18 Pro, the same level of credit effectively made the phone free, which made those offers simpler to promote.
How the credit is applied
T-Mobile does not deduct the amount at checkout. Instead, the phone is financed and the credit arrives as 36 monthly bill credits, which can take up to two billing cycles to begin. According to T-Mobile’s fine print, cancelling the account before all 36 credits post stops the credits and makes the remaining balance due. Paying the phone off early also ends the credits, so the full £740 credit only applies across the complete three-year term.
For customers on Experience Beyond who are committed to the Duo, the credit represents genuine savings but ties them to T-Mobile until late 2029. Subscribers on older plans such as Go5G Plus reported being unable to find any Duo offer.
T-Mobile’s iPhone Duo pre-orders open on 16 October 2026.
