The Xiaomi 17T Pro has claimed the EISA Smartphone award for 2026-2027, recognised for its camera system, display, flagship chipset, and long-lasting battery. The accolade forms part of the latest round of awards from the Expert Imaging and Sound Association, decided through the votes of multiple member publications that tested each product across the year using their own criteria. At least five EISA member publications reviewed every device under consideration.
Alongside Xiaomi’s win, several other manufacturers were honoured across a range of categories, from foldables to headphones, reflecting a broad spread of recognition throughout the mobile market.
Honor and Oppo take specialist awards
The Honor Magic V6 secured the EISA Foldable Smartphone award, praised for its class-leading battery capacity, IP ratings, displays, and performance. The device stood out among folding handsets for combining durability credentials with strong all-round capability.
The Oppo Find X9 Ultra won the EISA Photo & Video Smartphone award, with the association noting that it “raises the bar for smartphone photography with its uncompromising approach” and “innovative camera system”. EISA described the handset as “a competitor to super-zoom cameras” and the best option for “photographers seeking the ultimate range, image quality, and creative freedom” in a smartphone.
Samsung recognised for AI and audio
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra took the EISA AI Smartphone award, credited for features such as Now Brief and Now Nudge, along with the AI-driven Photo Assist suite that enables “scene-level editing through voice and text prompts”. The world’s first built-in Privacy Display was also highlighted, together with machine-learning privacy alerts. EISA called the device “a benchmark smartphone for proactive, secure, and context-aware AI”.
Samsung also claimed the EISA In-Ear Headphones award for the Galaxy Buds4 Pro, described as “a well-rounded choice for everyday high-fidelity listening”. The earbuds were praised for their Enhanced Adaptive ANC and AI-powered Adaptive Noise Control, “which constantly analyses your surroundings to optimize noise levels”, as well as Siren Detect, “which instantly allows emergency alerts to penetrate the ANC for safety”. EISA noted that the Buds4 Pro also deliver “exceptionally clear calls”.
The 2026-2027 awards therefore see Xiaomi, Honor, Oppo, and Samsung each recognised across distinct categories, with Samsung the only brand to secure two separate honours in this round.
