Google Health is receiving a fresh update that addresses one of its most requested improvements: better manual workout logging. The update, version 5.07, is now rolling out to both iOS and Android.
Google rebranded the Fitbit app and launched Google Health in May 2026, discontinued the Google Fit app, and unsettled longtime Fitbit and Pixel Watch users. Since then, the company has been releasing fixes for some of the app’s most pressing issues, a pattern that continues with this latest release.
Better manual workout logging
Version 5.07 introduces three major changes for users who log exercises by hand. According to Google, users can now add and adjust more metrics when logging their workouts, and edits will appear more quickly in the workout summaries.
Users also gain the ability to log more metrics when switching from a pool to an open swim exercise. Maps within the app have been improved as well, with faster loading times and smoother rendering and adjustments.
Google has fixed a bug that made maps disappear from running, biking, or walking workouts tracked with a phone. From now on, trail runs and incline runs are also included in the Running Distance totals.
Smaller changes in version 5.07
A minor but useful change updates the minimum and maximum values on the weight graph. These are now expanded, allowing more drastic weight changes to be seen more easily, which is helpful for viewing long-term trends in a single chart.
The update also resolves issues with Health Connect, which had caused some users to lose their connection. That feature allows users to share health, fitness, and medical information securely between multiple applications.
Feedback on the release has included various feature requests, such as altitude tracking during running and biking, along with editable heart rate zones beyond the maximum heart rate. The update arrives on a steady schedule, signalling Google’s ongoing effort to refine its Health app, with version 5.07 now available on iOS and Android.
