The Incredibles 3 has been confirmed by Disney, with the superhero Parr family set to return in a third installment of the Pixar franchise. The announcement was made during the Disney Entertainment Showcase on Friday night at the biennial fan convention D23 in Anaheim.
Pixar’s Pete Docter took to the stage to mark the 40th anniversary of the studio, offering fans a first look at what lies ahead for the beloved superhero family.
What Is The Incredibles 3 About?
The new film introduces the Super Hero League, launching now that superheroes are legal once more following the events at the close of the second movie. The third instalment places the Parr children at the heart of the story, according to Docter.
“Violet and Dash are determined to step out on their own,” Docter said. “They’ve been sneaking out at night … and to make matters worse, they’ve been struggling to contain Jack-Jack.”
Docter also confirmed that a supervillain will face off against the supers in the film, setting up a fresh threat for the family to overcome.
