The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE could be the star of a new Galaxy Event that Samsung has scheduled for 27 August. The company has confirmed the showcase will introduce what it describes as “the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family,” a device “purposefully designed to bring the core Galaxy S26 experiences from camera to AI, along with the latest One UI, to those who look for what truly matters most to them.”
The event will be livestreamed on the Samsung.com website and Samsung’s official YouTube channel. Proceedings begin on Thursday 27 August at 1 PM BST.
Will the event reveal the Galaxy S26 FE?
At first glance, the timing raised questions about whether the Galaxy S26 FE would actually appear. Last year’s Galaxy S25 FE launched on 4 September, roughly a week after the 27 August slot chosen this time around. The Galaxy S24 FE, by contrast, was not shown until late September in 2024, leaving the schedule open to interpretation.
A curious detail emerged when the invitation image was run through Gemini with a prompt asking what would be shown. The picture appeared largely unchanged, except that the middle “lens” of the camera graphic on the invitation shifted. Samsung’s original image showed Galaxy AI sparkles emerging from a box marked “Galaxy Event,” followed by the date and the line “Live on Samsung.com.”
In the version produced by Gemini, the wording beneath the box read “Galaxy AI Event,” with the next line stating “Galaxy S26 FE” and the smaller print again reading “Live on Samsung.com.” AI tools are known to hallucinate, so the result cannot be treated as confirmation.
Rumoured Galaxy S26 FE specifications
Should the handset be unveiled next week, the latest rumours point to a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1080 x 2340. It is expected to run on the 3nm Gate-All-Around Exynos 2500 processor paired with 8GB of memory, with storage choices of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
The rumoured triple-camera arrangement comprises a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. The front-facing camera is tipped at 12MP. Power is said to come from a 4,900 mAh battery supporting 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
The Galaxy Event takes place on Thursday 27 August, streaming live from Samsung.com and YouTube from 1 PM BST.
