OpenAI Loses Second Executive as Denise Dresser Departs - OpenAI executive departure
OpenAI is losing a second executive as Denise Dresser departs the chief revenue officer role, with Dali Rajic of Wiz set to take over.

OpenAI is set to lose a second senior executive this week, with Denise Dresser confirming her forthcoming departure from the company. Dresser, who joined as chief revenue officer in December after serving as chief executive of Slack, said she would leave in the “coming weeks” to “pursue other opportunities”, according to a team note she posted on LinkedIn.

The company confirmed that Dali Rajic, currently president and chief operating officer of Wiz, will take over the chief revenue officer role. The transition marks another change at the top of an organisation that has seen several high-profile figures move on in recent months.

A run of high-level exits

Dresser’s departure follows a string of significant leadership changes at OpenAI. Earlier in the week, special projects lead and former chief operating officer Brad Lightcap announced that he would also be stepping away from the company. Dresser had assumed some of Lightcap’s responsibilities when he moved into the special projects role, meaning her exit compounds a period of considerable reshuffling within the executive team.

The recent turnover also includes former artificial general intelligence chief Fidji Simo and the company’s former chief marketing officer, adding to the sense of movement across several senior positions.

Leadership changes at OpenAI

The appointment of Dali Rajic brings an experienced operational figure into the revenue leadership at OpenAI. His current role at Wiz, where he serves as both president and chief operating officer, positions him to oversee the company’s commercial functions as it continues to expand.

Dresser spent roughly a year at OpenAI, having taken up the chief revenue officer post in December. Her tenure coincided with a period in which the company was managing rapid growth alongside notable changes to its senior structure. The successive departures have placed a spotlight on how OpenAI manages continuity across its most senior commercial and operational roles.

With Rajic set to step into the chief revenue officer position, OpenAI is preparing to fill a key commercial post at a time when several other leadership changes are already under way. Dresser is expected to leave in the coming weeks.
