Netflix Unveils Anime NYC 2026 Trailers and Release Dates - Netflix Anime NYC 2026
Netflix reveals Anime NYC 2026 trailers and release dates for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, Blue Eye Samurai season 2, Bass x Machina, Fool Night and more.

Netflix used the opening night of Anime NYC 2026 to reveal a slate of trailers, release dates and fresh images for its upcoming anime titles. The convention runs from Thursday through Sunday, featuring panels, sneak peeks, exhibits and screenings, with the streamer closing out Thursday’s programme with a series of announcements.

Fans can look forward to new seasons of established favourites alongside original productions. Here is a breakdown of what was confirmed during the evening.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 and Blue Eye Samurai season 2

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will return for its second season on 20 October, four years after the series first debuted on the platform. The standalone instalment comprises 10 episodes and takes viewers back into the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, promising further action, violence and a revenge-driven plot. Netflix shared additional photos and an official teaser alongside the announcement.

Blue Eye Samurai returns for its second season in January 2027, following protagonist Mizu to London as she continues her quest for revenge. The season will consist of six episodes, and Netflix released a short teaser with the launch information.

Bass x Machina, Fool Night and Sakamoto Days

The original steampunk-style anime Bass x Machina arrives on 3 November. Set in the West, the story follows a father on a pursuit of justice and features supernatural and sci-fi elements. Its voice cast includes Janelle Monáe, Brian Tyree Henry, Tati Gabrielle and Cree Summer.

Fool Night, an adaptation of Kasumi Yasuda’s manga, also received an extended look. The series is set in a distant future where thick clouds cover the sky, trapping Earth in constant winter and night, leaving most of the planet’s vegetation withered. Facing an oxygen shortage, humanity relies on a technology called Transfloration, which implants seeds into the bodies of those near death, transforming them into plants. The story follows young man Toshiro Kamiya, who lives in poverty and works to pay taxes, cover living expenses and afford medication for his mentally ill mother, ultimately choosing the path of the Spiriflor.

Sakamoto Days returns for its second season, bringing back retired hitman Taro Sakamoto as he gathers intel on Slur. The announcements formed part of Netflix’s presence at Anime NYC 2026, which continues through Sunday.
