The iQOO 16 is tipped to arrive with a higher refresh-rate screen and a revamped design, according to the latest rumour from China. The handset is expected to launch in September 2026.
Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station claims the iQOO 16 will feature a 165Hz refresh rate screen, marking an upgrade over its predecessor. The panel is said to be a 6.85in flat 2K display sourced from Samsung. By comparison, last year’s iQOO 15 came with a 6.85in flat display running at 144Hz.
Design and display changes
The rounded corners and bezels reportedly see minimal changes, but the camera module on the rear is described as small and square-shaped, positioned in the upper-left corner of the back panel as part of the updated design.
The iQOO 16 is also expected to be powered by the as-yet-unannounced 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975) chipset, reiterating an earlier claim.
Battery, charging and camera
Earlier leaks indicated the iQOO 16 will pack an 8,500 mAh battery with 100W wired charging and support for wireless charging. The device is also tipped to include symmetrical dual speakers (1115 series), an X-axis motor (0916 series) and USB 3.2 connectivity.
Further features attributed to the handset include a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, a dedicated graphics chip (possibly the Supercomputing Chip Q4) and an IP68/69 rating. Its primary camera is being tested with a 50MP OmniVision OV50Q sensor.
Those hoping for a built-in cooling fan will be disappointed, as the tipster claims the iQOO 16 will not include one.
