The iPhone Fold could be the name Apple chooses for its first-ever foldable handset, according to the latest speculation, rather than the widely used iPhone Ultra label. The foldable device is not being cancelled; instead, its final branding remains in question ahead of launch.
For months, industry watchers and enthusiasts have referred to Cupertino’s upcoming bending phone as the iPhone Ultra. Recent talk suggests the company may settle on the iPhone Fold moniker, a name that sits more naturally alongside Apple’s existing product families.
Why the naming matters
The specifications of the foldable iPhone are already fairly well documented, with numerous renders circulating that depict how the handset might look. No one has yet seen the device in real life, which leaves a rare element of surprise for a market where nearly every detail typically emerges long before an official unveiling.
Leaks have become a defining feature of the smartphone sector. Google, Samsung and Apple products are frequently detailed weeks or months ahead of their release, with information in the final run-up often proving highly accurate.
