iOS 27: Apple Opens App Store Submissions Before Launch - iOS 27 App Store
Apple is now accepting App Store submissions built for iOS 27, macOS 27 and more, ahead of their public launch on 14 September 2026.

Apple has begun accepting App Store submissions for apps built for iOS 27 and its other forthcoming operating systems, ahead of their official rollout on Monday, 14 September 2026.

The company confirmed during its “Surprise and Shine” event that iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, tvOS 27, visionOS 27 and watchOS 27 will all launch on the same date. Developers can now download the Xcode 27 Release Candidate and submit apps and games built with the latest SDKs for approval.

macOS 27 requires Apple silicon

Apple used the announcement to remind developers that macOS 27 will support only software built for Apple silicon. macOS 26 is the final release to support Intel Mac computers and Rosetta.

To limit an app to Macs with Apple silicon, developers should set their Xcode build architecture to arm64 only, then rebuild and resubmit. Removing support for Intel-based apps allows for simpler development and better optimisation for Apple silicon.

New requirements and listing changes

Apple also reminded developers to answer the new age rating questions required for features such as Time Allowances. It encouraged them to prepare their App Store listings for the new product page headers and search result assets, with updated design guidance and templates available for product pages, screenshots, app previews and In-App Events.

The company reaffirmed that, starting April 2027, apps and games uploaded to App Store Connect will need to meet minimum requirements. iOS and iPadOS apps must be built with the iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 SDK or later. tvOS apps must be built with the tvOS 27 SDK or later. visionOS apps must be built with the visionOS 27 SDK or later. watchOS apps must be built with the watchOS 27 SDK or later.

The new operating systems become available to the public on 14 September 2026.
