Huawei has previewed the Pura X View, a handset built around a 6.39-inch OLED panel with an unusually wide 16:9.5 aspect ratio. The company is highlighting the additional horizontal space for more immersive reading, gaming and general content consumption.
A full specification list has yet to be released, though Huawei has confirmed a sizeable 7,000mAh battery housed within a slim 6.68mm frame. The device is scheduled to arrive on 28 August with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Reports point to the Kirin 9030s chip from the Pura 90 Pro series, alongside three 50MP cameras.
iPhone 18 Pro and Apple A20 Pro leaks
On the Apple side, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to be the only model in the range to feature a variable aperture camera when it launches next month. Details also emerged regarding the Apple A20 Pro chip, which is said to use TSMC’s new Gate-All-Around (GAA) process and deliver 18% faster performance than the outgoing A19 Pro. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro line-up in September.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is set to launch on 27 August with a substantial 10,000mAh battery and a 6.83-inch AMOLED display at 1.5K resolution.
Fairphone 6+ and further Android releases
The Fairphone 6+ is now official, arriving with 12GB of RAM and a newer Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip compared with its predecessor. The sustainable handset adds a new Cobalt Blue colour option and retails for roughly £510.
Elsewhere, the Xiaomi 18 Ultra is rumoured to have been cancelled, leaving the 18 Pro Max at the top of Xiaomi’s range. In a similar vein, vivo’s upcoming X500 Ultra and Oppo’s Find X10 Ultra may not receive a global launch, with buyers in international markets potentially having to settle for the Pro Max models instead.
Additional specifications surfaced for the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE. It is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display (FHD+ 120Hz), an Exynos 2500 chipset, a 4,900mAh Si/C battery and a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide and 8MP telephoto camera arrangement on the rear.
Sony is also launching a new phone, rumoured to be the Xperia 10 VIII, on 25 August.
