Hisense has launched the first dehumidifier to support Matter, positioning it as a summer companion for Apple Home with straightforward control, Siri support, and automations. The Hisense TopLift was first shown at CES 2026, and a few months later it is now shipping to buyers.
With a fair price and Apple Home compatibility, it aims to be a practical solution for humid summer months. After several weeks of testing, it has proven effective at making a home more comfortable.
TopLift design and build
Home appliances such as humidifiers and dehumidifiers rarely look striking, and this one keeps to a utilitarian style. It is a compact rectangular unit that appears cleaner than much of the bulkier competition, without standing out as attractive.
Several functional touches are built into the design. Hidden pocket handle grips are tucked into each of the narrow ends, and optional casters on the underside allow the unit to be moved around easily. A large air intake sits on one side, drawing air through a filter. This filter can be removed and cleaned rather than replaced, helping to reduce long-term running costs.
The standout feature is the top-lift water reservoir, a 50-litre (18-pint) container that holds the water extracted from the surrounding air. Most dehumidifiers place the bucket at the bottom, requiring it to slide out, which often leads to spills as the water moves. The Hisense model uses a hidden handle on the top that extends as you lift, so the reservoir can be carried without bending over and emptied at a sink, outdoors, or into plants.
Water pump and performance
Top-mounted reservoirs are uncommon because they require a pump to push water upwards, rather than letting it drain naturally to the bottom. That pump brings an additional benefit: an included hose can be connected to run water directly to a raised sink or nearby bucket for continuous drainage.
Elsewhere, the unit follows familiar form, finished in all white with simple controls on top, a target humidity indicator, and air vents around the body.
Design aside, the device has performed well throughout testing. As the first dehumidifier to support Matter, it integrates with Apple Home for control, Siri commands, and automations, making it easy to fit into an existing smart home setup. The washable filter and top-lift reservoir together aim to keep maintenance and running costs manageable over time.
