Grok Bot is a new always-on AI agent service that behaves like an independent “AI teammate” capable of completing work on your behalf. Introduced by Elon Musk’s AI company, the tool operates within its own cloud-based computer environment and can sign into apps, tools, and websites you already use to carry out multi-step workplace tasks. The bots only return once their assigned work is completed, or when something requires approval.
The service represents the company’s latest effort to keep pace with business tools from rival AI providers, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT Work, Anthropic’s Claude Cowork, and Microsoft’s Copilot Tasks. According to the company, Grok Bot builds on an internal prototype that was already being used to handle sales outreach, marketing, office operations, bug fixes, and more.
How Grok Bot works
Users can message the bots “like a colleague” from a phone or desktop to designate work, without needing to build workflows and routines beforehand. Multiple bots can run in parallel, with one bot assigned to manage the others as they work on their own specialised tasks. The bots can independently message each other to share context when projects overlap, and they can be placed in a group chat environment to coordinate work and assign ownership on their own.
The AI agents can learn and save your existing workflows, retaining context about how you perform tasks in order to preserve your personal voice. The company says they can also follow up on dropped conversations and handover threads, pick work back up from old chats, and become more proactive over time by picking up work before you need to ask and recognising when something requires your attention.
Availability and access
Grok Bot is available in beta starting today. It can be accessed on desktop and iOS by SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers. The company says teams and enterprise users can join a waitlist for future access.
