The Fairphone 6+ now has an official launch date, with the company confirming that its next sustainable handset will be unveiled on 18 August 2026. The event is scheduled for 13:00 CET, which corresponds to 12:00 in London and 14:00 in Eastern Europe.
The confirmation follows earlier reports that had pointed to the same date, and it sets the stage for a device that appears to build modestly on last year’s model rather than reinventing it.
What the Fairphone 6+ is expected to offer
According to current expectations, the Fairphone 6+ will introduce a handful of upgrades over the Fairphone 6 that launched last year. Chief among them is a newer chipset, with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 replacing the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 found in the previous model.
Memory is also set to increase, with the handset expected to carry 12GB of RAM compared with the 8GB offered by the Fairphone 6. A fresh Cobalt Blue colour option is anticipated to join the line-up as well.
Beyond these changes, the two devices are believed to be otherwise identical, suggesting the Fairphone 6+ is a targeted refresh rather than a full generational leap.
Expected pricing and availability
Pricing details will only be confirmed at the launch, but reports suggest the Fairphone 6+ could arrive at around €649. That figure translates to roughly £560, positioning it above the Fairphone 6, which cost about £50 less at its own launch and now sells for around £85 below the rumoured new price.
