Apple has confirmed the date for its next major iPhone showcase, ending months of rumours and leaks. The company will host an in-person event at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, on 9 September at 10am PT, with the keynote streamed live for a global audience.
The official event poster carries the tagline “Surprise and Shine”, alongside a glowing Apple logo that appears to have sunlight shining through it. The presentation is set to be the launchpad for Apple’s newest smartphone line-up, as well as potential additions to its wearables range.
What to expect from the iPhone 18 Pro
Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during the keynote. The series is anticipated to keep a design similar to the iPhone 17 Pro range, while introducing a number of internal upgrades.
Among the rumoured changes are a variable-aperture main rear camera, the new A20/Pro chipset, a smaller Dynamic Island, and an updated modem. The handsets are also expected to arrive in fresh colour options, including Dark Cherry and Sky Blue.
New Apple Watch models could feature at the same event, expanding the company’s wearables offering alongside the flagship phones.
The first foldable iPhone Ultra
The headline reveal is expected to be the iPhone Ultra, Apple’s first foldable iPhone. The device is reported to feature a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.67-inch inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Additional rumours suggest the foldable will support Touch ID and offer an iPad-like user interface, marking a notable shift in Apple’s approach to the smartphone form factor. The company’s move into foldables places it alongside rivals that have offered such designs for several years.
Apple will host the in-person event at Apple Park and livestream the keynote from 10am PT on 9 September.
