SimpliSafe, a DIY home security firm, positions the device as an upgrade over standard smart doorbells by combining hardware detection with its Active Guard Outdoor Protection service. That subscription starts at roughly £40 a month and unlocks the live monitoring capabilities that set the Series 2 apart from conventional camera systems.
How the live monitoring works
When the camera identifies suspicious activity, a SimpliSafe monitoring agent can drop in on the live feed to see, speak to, and attempt to deter potential intruders and package thieves.
