The Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max are set to arrive in India on 15 September, according to newly surfaced details. The wider Redmi Note 17 series receives its global launch next week, though that rollout will not extend to India, where the standard Redmi Note 17 is already official.
The two Pro handsets round out the line-up for the Indian market, and fresh specifications point to sizeable batteries and long-term software commitments across both models.
Specifications and battery capacity
The Redmi Note 17 Pro is reported to carry a 9,000 mAh battery, matching its Chinese counterpart. The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max steps up to a 10,000 mAh battery and is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset.
The Pro Max is expected to feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP main camera, a 32MP selfie camera, and support for 100W wired charging. Both devices are anticipated to receive four major OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
Pricing expectations
The most notable detail concerns pricing. Both the Pro and Pro Max are rumoured to launch at least INR 8,000 (around £70) higher than their respective predecessors. An exact price point has not yet been leaked for either model.
The confirmed launch date for the Redmi Note 17 Pro and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max in India stands at 15 September.
