MLB The Show 26 headlines the PlayStation Plus offering for September 2026, giving baseball fans a substantial title to sink their teeth into. While the month coincides with major releases such as Marvel’s Wolverine, arriving on 15 September, the monthly subscriber selection is somewhat more restrained. Alongside the baseball simulation, subscribers gain access to Sniper Elite: Resistance, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes.
PlayStation Plus is Sony’s subscription service and functions as a competitor to Xbox Game Pass, offering a large and continually expanding library of titles. Subscribers can select from the Essential, Extra and Premium tiers, each carrying distinct perks and benefits. Plans start at roughly £9 per month, providing access to monthly games and rewards. Each month, all subscribers can claim a handful of games at no additional charge, with the September selection available from 1 September.
What’s Included in the September Selection
Sniper Elite: Resistance centres on precise sniping, stealth and tactical third-person combat. Players take control of Harry Hawker as he infiltrates Nazi-occupied France. Open-ended missions allow you to scout enemy positions, find alternate routes, set traps and complete objectives in your preferred manner, while realistic ballistics account for wind, gravity and heart rate. Weapons can be customised with new scopes, barrels and ammunition, and the campaign supports cooperative play. Propaganda missions, Axis Invasion and competitive multiplayer add further ways to test your skills.
MLB The Show 26 delivers a deep and authentic baseball experience, featuring revamped hitting and pitching systems that grant players greater control during crucial moments. The Road to the Show mode lets you build a career from high school and college through to the majors, and potentially the Hall of Fame. Alternatively, you can manage every aspect of a franchise, aided by an overhauled trade system and smarter roster logic.
Wobbly Life offers little in the way of structure, and that is the intended appeal. You can roam its open world, take on odd jobs, earn money and spend it on houses, vehicles, clothes and pets, or simply cause chaos alone or with up to four players via online or local co-op. The physics-based sandbox makes nearly everything interactive, turning even simple activities into absurd accidents. Story missions, puzzles, hidden secrets and mini-games provide plenty to uncover.
Chained Echoes blends traditional JRPG conventions with a few original ideas, following a group of heroes drawn into a war between three kingdoms. Battles are turn-based, but the Overdrive system requires careful management of attacks and abilities to keep your party in a beneficial zone without overheating. Outside combat, you can explore Valandis on foot, travel by airship and eventually pilot mech suits for both exploration and combat. The game features no random encounters and a deep equipment system.
All four titles become available to PlayStation Plus subscribers from 1 September 2026.
