Microsoft Windows 11 and Office for Mac licences are available at heavily reduced prices this weekend, with costs dropping to as little as around £8.
The discounts cover both Windows and Office licences, with Windows 11 reduced to roughly £8 and Office Home 2024 for Mac marked down to about £89, from a previous price of around £141.
What to know before buying Windows 11
It is worth checking compatibility before purchasing the Windows licence. The version on offer is designed for PCs that require a new licence for Windows. If your PC is running Windows 10 and is unable to use Windows Update to install the free upgrade to Windows 11, you will not be able to install this version.
Verifying your system’s eligibility in advance can help avoid installation issues, particularly for older hardware that may not meet the requirements for the upgrade.
Office Home 2024 for Mac details
For the Office Home 2024 licence, the single-use code is linked to your Microsoft Account rather than to a specific device. It can be installed on one supported Mac or PC for non-commercial use.
This is a standalone licence for Office Home 2024 and is not Microsoft 365. Microsoft’s product lifecycle spans five years, and the company states that Office 2024 will be retired on 10 October 2029.
