iOS 27 Beta 5: New Search Settings and Redesigned Icons
iOS 27 beta 5 brings new Search settings, redesigned app icons and British English voice options for Siri AI. Here is what has changed.

iOS 27 beta 5 has arrived, bringing redesigned icons for several key apps alongside a broader set of changes than would typically be expected this late in the beta cycle. Apple released the fifth developer beta on Monday, three weeks after the release of iOS 27 beta 4.

The update introduces additional Search settings, updated app icons, and further refinements across the system. It follows a steady stream of new features that have appeared throughout the beta programme.

What has changed across the iOS 27 betas

The first beta of iOS 27 introduced the long-awaited Siri AI, marking one of the more significant additions to the release. The second beta focused on improvements to the Apple Home and Apple Wallet apps.

The third beta added further voice customisation options for Siri AI, including pace and expressivity sliders. At that stage, however, these controls were limited to American English voices only.

British English voices gain new options

With the arrival of beta 5, Apple has expanded the pace and expressivity settings to British English voices. This brings the customisation options to a wider group of users, allowing more control over how Siri AI sounds during interactions.

The redesigned app icons and the additional Search settings round out the notable changes in this developer release, which is available now for download by registered developers.
