iOS 27.0.1 Fixes Key iPhone 18 Pro Bugs

iOS 27.0.1 Fixes Key iPhone 18 Pro Bugs
iOS 27.0.1 is now available, fixing three iPhone bugs including Face ID restarts and touchscreen issues on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.

iOS 27.0.1 is now available to download, arriving roughly two weeks after Apple released iOS 27. The latest update focuses on bug fixes for most iPhones, with two of those fixes aimed specifically at the new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models. Apple recommends downloading the update to keep devices running as smoothly as possible.

To install the update, open Settings and tap General. Then select Software Update, tap Update Now and follow the on-screen prompts.

What iOS 27.0.1 Fixes

According to Apple’s release notes, iOS 27.0.1 addresses three separate bugs. One issue could cause an iPhone’s touchscreen to become unresponsive when a user attempts to open Notification Centre and Control Centre at the same time.

The remaining two fixes are specific to the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. One bug could cause those devices to restart unexpectedly after Face ID fails to authenticate. Some users had encountered this problem on the new handsets, and advised others to hold off on setting up Face ID until it was resolved. Once the update is installed, the issue should be fixed, allowing the security feature to be configured if it has not been already.

The third fix concerns a display issue. A colour artifact could appear in photos taken with certain settings on the Pro and Pro Max devices.

Full Release Notes

Apple states the update provides bug fixes for the iPhone, including fixes for the following issues. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max may unexpectedly restart when Face ID fails to authenticate. A colour artifact may appear on photos captured at 2x under certain lighting conditions at f/1.48 on a small number of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max devices. Opening Notification Centre and Control Centre simultaneously may cause the touchscreen to become unresponsive.

The touchscreen fix applies across the wider iPhone range, while the Face ID and photo artifact fixes are limited to the two newest Pro models. All three issues are resolved once iOS 27.0.1 has been installed.
