The Insta360 Luna Pro has been officially unveiled, expanding the company’s Luna series of handheld gimbal cameras. The device pairs a 1-inch sensor with a Leica Summicron lens and supports 8K Dolby Vision video recording along with 10-bit I-Log.
Sensor, Chipset and Video Capabilities
At the heart of the Luna Pro sits a 4nm chipset accompanied by a dedicated image processor. This combination allows the 1-inch sensor to capture footage at up to 8K resolution, while slow-motion clips can be recorded at up to 1080p 240fps.
The gimbal camera provides 3-axis stabilisation to keep footage steady during handheld use. It also offers 2x lossless zoom and up to 4x HighRes zoom, giving users flexibility when framing shots.
Display, Storage and Battery
The Luna Pro includes a detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen with straightforward controls. Built-in storage stands at 47GB, and the camera is claimed to deliver up to four hours of battery life on a single charge.
For professional video workflows, the camera supports 10-bit I-Log and ACES, catering to those who require greater latitude in colour grading and post-production.
Pricing and Availability
The Insta360 Luna Pro is priced at around £470 and is offered in Cosmic Black and Stellar White colourways. It is available for purchase through Insta360’s official store, Amazon and select retailers. The Luna Pro joins the Luna Ultra, which features a dual-sensor setup.
