The Google Pixel 11 lineup arrives with higher starting prices, with the company pointing to the ongoing RAM shortage as a key factor. Unveiled at the Made by Google event, the new range includes fresh Pixel phones, a foldable, a smartwatch and a personal item tracker, and most cost more than the models they replace.
Like the wider technology industry, phone makers have contended with increased prices for memory and other components. Google acknowledged the shortage, noting that its pricing reflects the current reality. Samsung cited the same reason to justify the price increase for its foldables launched the previous month.
Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro pricing
The Pixel 11 fronts the range and starts at around £710, roughly £80 more than last year’s Pixel 10. It now comes with 256GB of storage, twice the minimum of its predecessor, as Google removed the 128GB option and made the higher tier the entry point. A new 512GB version is priced at about £805.
The Pixel 11 Pro also dropped its 128GB option but kept the remaining tiers at broadly similar prices. It starts at around £870 for 256GB, rises to roughly £965 for 512GB and reaches about £1,185 for 1TB, £40 higher than its predecessor.
Pro XL and Pro Fold see flat increases
The Pixel 11 Pro XL, Google’s priciest flat phone, received a price rise across the board despite unchanged storage options. It now starts at about £1,025 for 256GB, moves to roughly £1,120 for 512GB and tops out at around £1,300 for 1TB.
The Pixel 11 Pro Fold got a similar increase across all storage options, starting at about £1,500 for 256GB and rising to roughly £1,595 for the next tier.
RAM reductions on base models
Another sign of the shortage’s toll is a reduction in memory on some models. Last year’s Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL both came with 16GB of RAM, which remains on the 512GB and 1TB versions of the Pixel 11 Pro and 11 Pro XL. However, the starting 256GB versions come with 12GB of RAM. In a briefing ahead of the event, Google said its 2026 Pro phones are faster and smoother than last year’s thanks to optimisations in silicon and software.
All four phones can be preordered now, with a full release on 20 August.
