A Google advertisement has revealed an unannounced wearable device, fuelling speculation about the company’s next fitness tracker. Earlier this month, Google unveiled several new products at its Made by Google event, including the Pixel 11 phones and the Pixel Watch 5. In May, the company also launched its screenless Fitbit Air health tracker. However, no official information has emerged about the mystery product now appearing in recent Google promotional material.
A Reddit thread shared over the weekend highlighted a Google Pixel advertisement on YouTube featuring the new Pixel 11 series, the Pixel Watch 5 and an unidentified wearable. The device resembles a cross between the Fitbit Charge 6 and the Watch 5, distinguished by an oblong screen with rounded edges in a fog white finish. Sponsored by Google Australia, the advert’s caption reads: “The ultimate power trio for your wrist, ears and hands. Preorder Pixel devices now.”
What Could the New Device Be?
Speculation has centred on whether the product might be a Fitbit Charge 7, a rebranded Pixel Watch, or an entirely new fitness tracker. A Google representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The same wearable also featured in a second Google Australia advert alongside the Pixel 11 phones, the Watch 5, the Pixel Buds Pro 2, Pixelsnap phone cases and Watch loop bands in a new olive green colour. This suggests the unreleased device may arrive in both fog and olive finishes, potentially as part of the Pixel line-up.
Genuine Product or Error?
Some observers questioned whether the mysterious device was the result of an AI hallucination, an error produced by generative artificial intelligence. However, it would not be the first time an unreleased Google product has appeared in promotional content ahead of its launch. In March, roughly two months before its release, the Fitbit Air was spotted in a paid partnership video featuring NBA player Steph Curry, who also serves as a Google performance adviser.
If the timeline between these advertisement appearances and the eventual product launch mirrors that of the Fitbit Air, further details about the new wearable could emerge in the coming weeks.
