The Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus has become one of the smartest high-end buys available following a substantial new Amazon discount. Once considered the least popular member of last year’s Galaxy S25 family, the 6.7-inch handset now looks far more appealing thanks to a rare price reduction.
The device is currently available with a £250 discount from its original £790 list price on the 256GB storage variant. That represents a 32% saving and improves on Amazon’s previous price cut for the same model. The reduction is made more compelling by the higher regular price of the newer Galaxy S26 Plus, which launched at roughly £870.
What the Galaxy S25 Plus offers
The Galaxy S25 Plus features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and paired with 12GB of RAM. It carries a triple rear camera system comprising 50MP, 10MP and 12MP sensors, alongside a 4,900mAh battery that supports 45W charging speeds.
For those who prefer a more compact device with comparable performance, the 6.2-inch Galaxy S25, also fitted with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, is available at a significant discount as well.
How it compares with the Galaxy S26 Plus
The newer Galaxy S26 Plus looks almost identical to its predecessor at first glance and keeps a number of specifications unchanged, including screen size, resolution, camera hardware, the 4,900mAh battery capacity and 45W charging speeds. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and is currently sold without notable discounts by both Amazon and Samsung, which works in the older model’s favour.
Last year’s review of the Galaxy S25 Plus described the phone as “brilliantly unremarkable”, a label applied while taking the original higher price into account. With the current reduction, and against a backdrop of rising smartphone prices compared with the same period a year ago, the value proposition has shifted considerably.
