Apple Health is expanding its capabilities with a new partnership that allows users to order lab work directly through the app. The upgraded experience can draw from hundreds of data points, and for those without recent lab results to hand, a Quest Diagnostics blood panel can now be ordered without needing a doctor’s order.
The comprehensive blood panel is priced at roughly £88, giving users a straightforward route to obtaining detailed health data on demand. Once completed, those results feed directly into Apple Health for analysis.
How the Apple Health and Quest partnership works
The refreshed Apple Health experience is designed around Apple Intelligence, using every available data point to build a more holistic view of a person’s wellbeing. Access to medical labs is not universal, however, which is where the tie-up with Quest Diagnostics becomes relevant.
Users who already have a medical provider and have had recent lab work done may find those results already present in Apple Health through Health Records. Alternatively, results can be supplied via PDF. For everyone else, the Quest Diagnostics partnership provides a comprehensive set of labs that can be requested on demand through the app.
AI analysis of your health data
Once lab results are in Apple Health, they can be processed for AI analysis, contributing to the broader picture the app aims to present. The greater the number of data points included, the more complete that overview becomes.
The arrangement addresses a practical barrier for people who lack easy access to medical labs, allowing them to order a Quest panel through the app without first securing a doctor’s referral. The comprehensive blood panel from Quest Diagnostics is available for approximately £88.
