Xiaomi HyperOS 4 beta recruitment is now under way, with the company inviting eager testers to try its upcoming software release across Global and EEA markets. As with any pre-release build, prospective participants should be aware that beta software can carry bugs and issues, and it is not recommended for use on a primary device.
The beta programme is initially open to a limited selection of handsets. To take part at this stage, you will need a Xiaomi 17 Ultra, a Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi, or a Xiaomi 17. Additional devices are scheduled to join the rollout shortly afterwards.
How to Join the HyperOS 4 Beta
Signing up is handled through the Xiaomi Community app. Once inside, tap Me, then Beta testing, followed by Recruiting test. Applicants will then be asked to complete a questionnaire before their submission is considered.
Xiaomi has confirmed that certain beta versions may require Xiaomi Account verification. Those accepted into the programme will receive the HyperOS 4 beta as an over-the-air update, delivered directly to their handset without the need for manual installation.
Reverting to Stable Software
Anyone wishing to return to the stable release of HyperOS 3 should note the process is not automatic. Rolling back from the beta can only be achieved by manually flashing the firmware, so testers should factor this into their decision before opting in.
The eligible device list is set to grow on 17 September, when recruitment expands to include the Xiaomi 17T, Xiaomi 17T Pro, Xiaomi 15, and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. This wider intake gives owners of several additional models the opportunity to trial the new software ahead of its general availability.
For now, the recruitment drive remains focused on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi, and Xiaomi 17, with the further four devices joining on 17 September.
