Samsung Galaxy Buds On are reportedly in development, marking the company’s move into the increasingly popular open-ear earbuds category. Leaked product renders have offered an early look at the design, which pairs a clip-on form factor with a set of features aimed at everyday convenience.
Open-ear earbuds have gained considerable momentum, sitting alongside more traditional wireless models that focus on active noise cancellation and audio quality. With rivals such as the Huawei FreeClip 2 already drawing attention for their comfort, Samsung now appears ready to enter the same space.
Design and colour options
According to the leaked renders, the Galaxy Buds On follow a fairly standard open-ear layout. The design consists of two rounded sections joined by a flexible silicone loop. One side is expected to rest closer to the user’s ear, while the flatter outer section likely houses an area for touch controls and gestures.
The images show the earbuds in black, though a white colour option also appears to be in the works. Additional illustrations extracted from the leak demonstrate how the earbuds clip around the wearer’s ears, reinforcing the loop-based approach seen across many open-ear designs.
Features and controls
The report indicates that the Galaxy Buds On will include Auto Volume, a feature that automatically adjusts the volume based on the surrounding environment. The earbuds are also said to support head gestures, allowing users to nod or shake their head to control playback and other functions.
Another notable capability will reportedly detect when the wearer has fallen asleep and automatically pause whatever is playing. Together, these features suggest Samsung is positioning the earbuds around ease of use and situational awareness rather than isolation.
Launch expectations
There is currently no confirmed timeframe for when Samsung intends to release the Galaxy Buds On. The company does, however, have a number of products rumoured to be in its pipeline, including the long-awaited Galaxy Glasses and the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. That growing list suggests more details about Samsung’s upcoming hardware could emerge before long.
For now, the leaked renders provide the clearest indication yet of how the earbuds will look, showing a black model alongside an anticipated white variant and illustrating the clip-on mechanism designed to secure them around the ear.
