The Galaxy Tab S12 series has appeared in a comprehensive specifications leak, offering a near-complete picture of Samsung’s two upcoming premium tablets ahead of their expected launch. The Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra are reported to share several core components while retaining a number of distinct differences.
Both tablets are said to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, and both offer UFS 4.0 storage alongside microSD support for up to 2TB of expansion. The devices are expected to ship with One UI 9.0 out of the box, with colour options limited to silver and grey.
Galaxy Tab S12 Plus and Ultra: key differences
The Plus model receives a battery upgrade to 10,600 mAh, up from the 10,090 mAh of its predecessor, while the Ultra retains the same 11,600 mAh capacity found in the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Both support charging of up to 45W.
Display sizes set the two apart. The Galaxy Tab S12 Plus features a 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel at 2800 x 1752 pixels, while the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra offers a larger 14.6-inch screen at 2960 x 1848 pixels. Both run at a 120 Hz refresh rate.
According to the leak, the S Pen is included only with the Plus model, though this may simply be an omission in the details. Both tablets carry IP68 ingress protection.
RAM, storage and camera specifications
The Ultra is expected to reach 16GB of RAM, likely on higher-storage configurations, with capacities of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. The Plus is limited to 12GB of RAM and tops out at 512GB of storage, though it shares the same 2TB microSD expansion support.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra houses a 13MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide on the rear, with a 12MP front camera. It weighs 693g and includes four speakers. The Galaxy Tab S12 Plus carries a single 13MP rear camera, a 12MP front camera, two speakers and weighs 555g.
The new tablets are now reported to launch on 7 October, having initially been expected slightly earlier. They will face competition from devices including the 13-inch iPad Pro (2025). Reports also point to notable price increases across the range.
