Samsung Galaxy Buds On have surfaced in a detailed leak, revealing the design and several features of the company’s forthcoming open-ear earbuds. The renders, described as official-looking, show a clip-style form factor for the earbuds, which were previously referred to as “Buds Able”.
The clip-on approach has become a popular style in recent years, appearing in products from brands such as Bose and Nothing. Samsung’s interpretation of the format looks somewhat more bulbous, though the underlying concept remains the same. Accompanying illustrations demonstrate how the earbud clips onto the ear.
Features hinted at in the Buds Manager app
The same Buds Manager app that produced the images also points to support for an Auto Volume feature, alongside head nod and shake gestures, voice memo functionality and AI assistant integration.
According to a string within the app, users who set up touch and hold controls as a voice recorder app can quickly start and stop the voice recorder with their earbuds. Recorded voice memos are automatically converted to text, and Bixby can be called upon to search by voice without the need to take out a phone.
The app additionally references a feature that automatically pauses music when the wearer is detected to be asleep, described as a One UI 9 capability.
Timing and other Samsung devices
The Galaxy Buds On have leaked several times, but this latest appearance suggests they may arrive sooner rather than later. An exact release date remains unclear.
Samsung has other products in its pipeline, including the Galaxy Tab S12 and Android XR glasses, indicating further launches are on the horizon. The company’s first Android XR glasses featuring a colour display may launch in late 2027.
