A fresh software leak has all but confirmed that Apple is preparing to launch a new base iPad and a refreshed iPad mini, giving a clearer picture of what buyers can expect from the next wave of tablets.
The discovery points to several new iPad models in the pipeline, with references surfacing in software code that align with the devices believed to be in development. Such leaks typically emerge ahead of an official announcement, offering an early indication of the hardware Apple intends to bring to market.
What the Leak Reveals
The leaked details centre on the standard iPad and the compact iPad mini, two models that sit at the more accessible end of Apple’s tablet range. The information provides additional insight into the specifications of the upcoming devices, suggesting the refresh is closer than previously thought.
Software references of this kind are often among the most reliable early signals, as they surface directly from code tied to Apple’s own systems. Their appearance strongly indicates that both tablets are being readied for release.
What This Means for the iPad Line-up
With multiple new iPads reportedly on the way, the leak reinforces expectations that Apple is set to broaden and update its tablet portfolio. A new entry-level iPad would continue to serve as the most affordable gateway into the range, while an updated iPad mini would maintain Apple’s presence in the smaller-format segment.
The leak stops short of confirming pricing or a firm release date, but the emergence of these references in software points to launches taking shape during 2026.
