The Moto Watch Ultra marks Motorola’s latest entry into the premium smartwatch space, and it arrives with a distinctly circular design rather than following the square template seen elsewhere in the Ultra category. Built around a rounded case with an arched display glass, the wearable pairs Motorola’s own styling with a fitness partnership with Polar.
Design and display
The Moto Watch Ultra ships in a single size, a 46 mm stainless-steel case that feels closer to a medium-sized watch than a bulky one. Two finishes are available: Black and Silver, each supplied with its own pair of straps. The Silver model comes with a green silicone strap and a classic brown leather band, while the Black version pairs a black silicone band with a black leather strap featuring red stitching. Owners can also fit any standard 22 mm watchband.
On the front sits a 1.5-inch pOLED panel with 2,700-nit peak brightness. It supports an always-on mode and wakes when the wrist is raised by default. The bubble-shaped glass on top is Gorilla Glass 3, prized for its surface hardness but more prone to shattering under strong impacts. Durability is rated IP68 and 5 ATM, meaning the watch is dust-tight and should withstand submersion to around 50 metres.
Hardware, software and fitness features
Powering the device is a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 processor. While not the newest chip available, the Plus version includes an always-on co-processor that handles minor tasks and voice processing, keeping the main chip free. The setup also enables fluid 3D animations and watchfaces on screen.
The watch runs on Wear OS 6.0, offering a range of watchfaces alongside a deep health suite. Rather than building fitness tracking from scratch, Motorola partnered with Polar, a company credited with inventing the wireless heart-rate tracker in the 1970s. That collaboration brings a Stamina Coach to guide when to push harder and when to ease off, plus heart-rate monitoring, stress tracking, SpO2 measurement, recovery insights and sleep tracking.
Connectivity covers dual-band GPS, autonomous Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allowing the watch to be taken for a run without a phone. The combination of Polar-backed metrics, a bright pOLED screen and a circular stainless-steel body positions the Moto Watch Ultra as a full-featured wearable within Motorola’s smartwatch line-up.
