Siri AI Launches in Beta With iOS 27 on 14 September
Siri AI launches in beta with iOS 27 on 14 September, subject to daily usage caps, fees and English-only support until October 2026.

Siri AI will remain in beta when Apple’s OS 27 software updates reach the public on 14 September, the company has confirmed. The long-delayed assistant will be subject to daily usage caps and fees, alongside language and regional restrictions when it becomes available.

The rollout spans several platforms simultaneously. iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 lead the mobile releases, while macOS 27 Golden Gate shares the same launch date. watchOS 27 and visionOS 27 will also arrive on 14 September, bringing Siri AI to supported devices across Apple’s ecosystem.

A beta within a finished release

Apple has already issued the first release candidates for its new operating systems, signalling that the software is nearing its public debut. Notably, Siri AI will retain its separate beta designation even after the operating systems themselves leave testing. This means users installing the finished OS 27 versions will still encounter the assistant in a preliminary state, with the constraints that come with unfinished software.

The decision to keep the assistant in beta reflects the extended development timeline that has surrounded the feature. Usage limits and potential charges for expanded access add further complexity for those hoping to make daily use of the tool.

Language support and phased rollout

At launch, the new assistant will operate exclusively in English. Users working in other languages will need to wait for a subsequent update. Apple has scheduled support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish to follow in October 2026, broadening the assistant’s reach across additional markets.

The regional restrictions accompanying the release mean availability will vary depending on location, and the daily usage caps will shape how much interaction each user can have with the assistant before limits take effect. Combined with the prospect of future paid access, these conditions define the initial experience for early adopters.

The staggered approach places English-speaking users at the front of the queue, with wider language coverage arriving several weeks after the initial software drop. All of the OS 27 updates, including watchOS 27 and visionOS 27, become available on 14 September.
