The iQOO 16 is now tipped to arrive with an 8,400 mAh battery, according to the latest information circulating ahead of the handset’s expected launch this month. An earlier claim had suggested the device would carry an 8,500 mAh cell, but the most recent update points to the slightly smaller figure.
Even with the revised capacity, the iQOO 16 would still comfortably exceed its predecessor. The iQOO 15 shipped with a 7,000 mAh battery, so the new model represents a notable step up in stamina for the series.
Charging and battery details
On the charging front, the iQOO 16 is rumoured to match the iQOO 15 with 100W wired charging. The handset is also expected to support wireless charging, though the exact speed has not been confirmed. For reference, the iQOO 15 offers 40W wireless charging.
The larger battery, combined with fast wired charging, suggests iQOO is prioritising endurance without compromising on top-up times for its next flagship.
Display, cameras and performance
Beyond power specifications, the iQOO 16 is rumoured to feature a 6.85in flat 2K display with a 165Hz refresh rate. A 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner is also expected, alongside IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Photography is tipped to be handled by a 50MP primary camera built around the OmniVision OV50Q sensor. A recently shared image hinted at a redesigned camera module, suggesting a fresh look for the rear of the device.
Under the bonnet, the iQOO 16 is rumoured to include a dedicated graphics chip. The handset was spotted on Geekbench running the as-yet-unannounced Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, paired with 16GB of RAM and Android 17.
The iQOO 16 is expected to launch this month.
