The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be unveiled at Apple’s launch event on 9 September, with a fresh rumour firming up the three-colour line-up for the devices.
According to the leaker Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo, the iPhone 18 Pro is now in full production and is set to arrive in sky blue, pure black and burgundy variants. Earlier iPhone 18 rumours have pointed to these shades, although the names have varied, with dark cherry cited instead of burgundy in some cases.
Black Returns, Silver Sits Out
For anyone hoping for a silver or grey finish, the latest report suggests Apple may skip that option this year, instead reintroducing black after dropping it from the iPhone 17 Pro series. Last year, black remained available on other models, including the iPhone Air, the base iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17E.
With around a week to go before the official event, further reports on the design of the iPhone 18 Pro are likely to continue emerging.
Pricing Under Pressure
Even more significant than the colour of the iPhone 18 Pro will be its cost. Apple has raised prices across other products amid an ongoing memory shortage that is making consumer electronics more expensive.
The new Mac Mini with an M6 processor, for instance, starts at around £710, considerably higher than the roughly £470 Mac Mini with an M4 processor it replaces. It is entirely possible that the iPhone 18 Pro line could carry a higher starting price than the current iPhone 17 Pro, which begins at about £870, should Apple follow the same trend.
The company is expected to reveal full details of the new line-up on 9 September.
