Apple Lists Siri AI Known Issues With iOS 27 Beta 8
Apple has published Siri AI known issues and workarounds after releasing iOS 27 Beta 8, ahead of the stable release for eligible iPhone models this month.

Siri AI known issues and their workarounds have been published by Apple following the release of iOS 27 Developer Beta 8. The release notes accompanying today’s update include an extensive list of problems affecting the AI assistant, alongside steps users can take to work around them. With iOS 27 introducing the eagerly awaited Siri AI, Beta adoption appears to be running higher than in previous cycles.

Today’s release may be one of the final Beta versions before the stable iOS 27 reaches eligible iPhone models later this month. Since the first iOS 27 Beta arrived on 8 June, Siri AI has been refined with each successive Beta release.

Getting Siri AI to hear a full voice prompt

One of the most widely documented issues is Siri cutting off before a voice prompt is complete, which happens when the assistant misreads a pause as the end of the input. Users can adjust this by going to Settings, then Accessibility, then Siri, and selecting Siri Pause Time set to Long or Longest. This instructs Siri to wait longer before assuming the request has finished.

When activating Siri manually, another option is to press and hold the side button while speaking, releasing it only once the sentence is complete. The voice detection engine can also be reset by going to Settings, then Siri & Search, and toggling Siri off and on.

Further known issues and Apple’s workarounds

After Siri returns photo search results and photos are selected, Siri might not detect which images are highlighted on screen. Asking Siri to “Send these” could send all photos from the search rather than only those chosen. As a workaround, open Photos, select the required images, then perform the action via Siri, for example “Send these photos to Bob.”

Siri does not currently allow photos to be referred to by number, such as “photo one” or “photo four.” Instead, use the photo picker to choose the image, or tap to select photos directly.

When Siri is asked for Maps information, the response snippets may be incomplete or contain formatting problems. The suggested fix is to have Siri repeat the information, or open the Apple Maps app to obtain the details directly.

When asking Siri to add photos to an album, the confirmation prompt and spoken response might indicate more photos than are actually added. Apple advises adding photos manually within the Apple Photos app by tapping Select, choosing the photos, tapping the Share button, tapping Add to Album, then selecting the album.

A further issue occurs when Siri is asked to read the last message and instead reads an unread message from an unknown sender, such as spam. The first iOS 27 Beta was released on 8 June, with the stable version expected to reach eligible iPhone models later this month.
