The Huawei Mate XT 2 has had its colours and storage variants revealed, with pre-orders now live in China ahead of an official launch on 7 September. The tri-folding smartphone follows a recent teaser video showcasing its design.
Buyers in China will be able to choose from three finishes: Dark Black, Pure White and Jin Purple. The foldable arrives in several memory configurations, catering to a range of storage needs.
Storage and Configuration Options
The Mate XT 2 will be offered in 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB variants. Huawei will also sell a privacy matte display version equipped with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. At the top of the range, a 16GB/2TB configuration ships bundled with a stylus.
Alongside the memory and colour details, Huawei has shared views of the device from every angle, giving a fuller picture of the design ahead of release.
Design and Hardware
The tri-folding handset features an octagonal rear camera module, similar to the one seen on the original Mate XT. Unlike both the Mate XT and Mate XTs, however, the new model adopts an inward-folding design and adds a cover screen. A further video has been released highlighting the phone’s features and functionality.
Under the bonnet, the Mate XT 2 is expected to be powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro chipset and to pack a 6,000mAh battery. It is also said to offer a rear camera setup comparable to that of the Mate X7. The device goes official in China on 7 September.
