The Galaxy S27 series is expected to gain a security feature that was once exclusive to Google’s Pixel handsets. Scam Detection, which arrived on the Galaxy S26 line earlier in 2026, is now tipped to feature across the entire Galaxy S27 range, according to clues uncovered within One UI 9 Beta 7.
What Scam Detection does
Scam Detection uses AI to identify conversational patterns commonly associated with fraudsters. This includes an urgent request to transfer funds or a demand for personal information from a caller. To ensure users do not miss the warning, the feature issues audio, visual, and haptic alerts during a suspicious call.
The feature debuted as a Pixel exclusive, arriving on the Pixel 6 and later models. It has since expanded to several Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S26 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. On both Pixel and Galaxy handsets, all processing and AI computations are carried out on-device, avoiding the cloud and making the feature more secure.
Which Galaxy phones are set to receive it
Beyond the Galaxy S27 line, Samsung is expected to backport Scam Detection to a number of older models. The Galaxy phones tipped to gain the feature include the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, Galaxy S25 Edge, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z TriFold.
All four Galaxy S27 models are expected to be covered, including the base model, the Galaxy S27 Plus, the Galaxy S27 Pro, and the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The Galaxy S27 Pro is the rumoured Ultra-like model that arrives without an S Pen and with a slightly smaller design. Without the internal components required for the S Pen, Samsung is aiming to fit a larger battery. The device is expected to feature a 200MP camera and a Privacy Display.
Processors and future call protection
Code discovered within the beta software referencing “s5e9975” and “qcom” suggests the Galaxy S27 will continue the dual-sourcing strategy Samsung has long used with its flagship series. The s5e9975 is believed to refer to the Exynos 2700 application processor, designed and built by Samsung on its 2nm process node, while the qcom reference points to Qualcomm’s stock symbol.
Separately, a recent report indicated that Google is looking to extend Scam Detection to outgoing calls. Whether this will remain a Pixel exclusive or eventually reach compatible Samsung Galaxy models with Scam Detection is not yet known.
