Apple Under John Ternus: What Comes Next for the iPhone Maker

Apple under John Ternus is set to face public scrutiny as the newly appointed chief executive prepares to unveil the company’s latest devices. Ternus is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Ultra, alongside several other products.

The leadership transition marks a significant moment for the company. Tim Cook, who served as the recognisable face of Apple for many years, has moved into the role of Apple Executive Chairman. The shift has prompted questions about the direction the business will take under its new leadership.

Business as Usual for Apple

A recent reader poll examining Apple’s future under John Ternus revealed a broadly optimistic outlook. Almost 54 percent of respondents said they believed Apple would continue much as it always has, growing at a steady pace year after year.

A further group, nearly 22 percent of voters, took an even more positive view, suggesting that Apple could grow at a faster rate under Ternus and reach greater heights more quickly than before.

These results indicate that the majority of those polled expect continuity rather than disruption, with the leadership change viewed as unlikely to alter how the company operates on a fundamental level.

A More Cautious View from Some

Not everyone shared the same confidence. A little over 20 percent of respondents predicted that Apple would enter a period of slow decline, gradually becoming less relevant over the coming years as the wider market moves on.

A smaller portion, under four percent, held the view that Cook had been the key figure holding the company together, and that his departure from the chief executive role could lead to a rapid downturn.

The iPhone remains a global cultural phenomenon, and the company has been trialling new products at a quicker pace. The Apple Vision Pro stands as an example of a release that did not achieve the same level of impact as the firm’s core products.

Leadership changes at large companies do not typically signal an immediate shift in how a business functions, and a sudden reversal of established strategy in the early days of a new chief executive’s tenure is considered unlikely. Ternus is scheduled to unveil the new devices tomorrow.
