Apple TV‘s dystopian science-fiction drama Silo could continue beyond its planned conclusion, with talk of a possible spinoff keeping the franchise alive. However, the author behind the source material has disputed the claim.
The series is set in a society forced to live underground after humanity was driven from the surface. It is based on the bestselling Silo trilogy by Hugh Howey, comprising the novels “Wool”, “Shift” and “Dust”.
A Popular Series Facing Its Finale
Although the drama has been well received, Apple TV informed its creators that the show would conclude after the fourth season. That decision set a clear endpoint for the underground saga, which has attracted a dedicated audience since its debut.
The third season returned to screens in July, continuing the story that has followed the inhabitants of the vast subterranean structure. The fourth and final season is anticipated to arrive in Summer 2027, closing out the main narrative.
Spinoff Talk Meets Pushback
Speculation about a spinoff has raised the prospect of the franchise extending past its intended finale. Such a project could allow Apple TV to build on the world established across the existing seasons, keeping the dystopian setting in play for future storytelling.
