Vitamix MaxExtract: First Cold-Press Juicer Revealed
The Vitamix MaxExtract is the brand's first cold-press juicer, using slow-masticating technology, with a five-year warranty and a price of around £375.

The Vitamix MaxExtract marks the brand’s first entry into the cold-press juicer category. Known primarily for its blenders, Vitamix has now released a machine that uses slow-masticating technology to extract juice from fruits, vegetables and leafy greens. The MaxExtract was announced on a Monday and became available to purchase on 15 October.

The appliance is designed to be straightforward from the moment it comes out of the box. Assembly requires relatively little time and effort. Once set up, produce is chopped into 2-inch pieces and placed into the juicer’s 5.3-inch hopper, which holds a considerable quantity of ingredients, before the machine completes the process within minutes.

How the MaxExtract operates

A light-up front dial sits at the centre of the design. Turning it to the on position starts the juicing process, the off position stops it, and the reverse setting clears any clog that may occur. The dial is illuminated from behind, a subtle design detail.

The cold-press juicer arrives with a full set of accessories. These include a pusher to guide ingredients down, a cleaning brush, separate pulp and juice containers, and two strainers. The fine-mesh strainer produces smoother juice with less pulp, while the easy-clean strainer yields more pulp but is simpler to rinse. The juice container features measurements along the side and a handle for easier pouring.

Cleaning, dimensions and availability

All detachable components are dishwasher-safe on both the top and bottom racks. The pulp outlet can also be opened to make pulp removal and cleaning more straightforward.

According to the user manual, the MaxExtract measures 17.7 by 8.5 by 7.7 inches and weighs 8.14 pounds. The hopper and chamber can be detached from the base if the full height does not suit a cabinet. By comparison, the Nama J2 Cold Press Juicer, priced at around £450, measures 17.7 by 9.8 by 9 inches and weighs 12.1 pounds, making the MaxExtract both narrower and shallower. The Hamilton Beach Easy Clean, at 11.14 pounds, is shorter but wider and deeper, measuring 15.31 by 13 by 9 inches.

The Vitamix MaxExtract is offered in black or white with a glass front. It became available on 15 October priced at around £375 and can be bought via Vitamix.com or Amazon. The juicer is supplied with a five-year limited warranty.
