Ugreen is expanding beyond phone power banks, chargers, and NAS storage devices with a significant push into the connected home. At the IFA technology show this week, the company introduced its HomeAgent smart home platform, a system designed to bring security camera storage, on-device intelligence, and home automation together under a single roof.
The platform is managed through a voice assistant named Uliya, and the company’s central promise is that everything is designed to run locally rather than relying on the cloud.
What the HomeAgent platform offers
At the heart of the system sits a hub that functions as the brain of the smart home. It runs a local-first AI engine, with some caveats, allowing users to interact with their devices using natural language via Uliya. The approach combines several functions that are often handled by separate products, bundling local storage, artificial intelligence processing, and device control into one integrated setup.
Ugreen is offering three hub configurations, giving buyers a choice depending on their requirements. The headline model is the HomeAgent H100 Pro, positioned as the more capable option within the range.
Local processing at the core
The emphasis on local operation is central to how Ugreen is presenting the platform. By keeping storage and AI processing on the device itself, the system is intended to handle security camera footage and smart home commands without depending heavily on external servers. Natural language control through Uliya is the primary way owners are expected to manage connected devices across the home.
The company’s move into this category marks a notable step for a brand best known for accessories and network-attached storage hardware. With the HomeAgent range, Ugreen is aiming to establish itself in a market where local control and privacy are increasingly emphasised by manufacturers.
