Sonos has expanded its audio line-up with the Beam Ultra soundbar and Ace Ultra headphones, introduced alongside Sonos 27, a rebranding of the company’s audio platform that brings AI assistants and ChatGPT music control to its ecosystem.
The new hardware arrives as Sonos repositions its software around AI features, offering listeners fresh ways to manage playback and interact with their devices across the home.
Beam Ultra and Ace Ultra pricing
The Beam Ultra soundbar launches at around £550, while the Ace Ultra headphones are priced at roughly £355. Both products debut alongside the rebranded Sonos 27 audio platform, marking a coordinated release of hardware and software.
Alongside the two new devices, Sonos is placing greater emphasis on optional AI controls that can be layered onto the listening experience for those who choose to use them.
AI features and rollout schedule
Optional AI controls include Sonos 27voice, along with support for outside assistants such as ChatGPT delivered through Sonos 27mcp. These additions allow users to manage music and platform functions using voice and assistant-driven commands.
Updated app navigation and Sonos 27mcp Early Access begin rolling out on 8 September. The Ace Ultra’s headphone linking feature follows as an opt-in Early Access feature on 29 September, giving owners the option to connect and manage headphones within the wider Sonos system.
The staggered release means core software updates arrive first, with the headphone linking capability made available later in the month as an additional opt-in feature.
