The Samsung Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A56 could receive the One UI 9 beta ahead of a stable release, according to firmware activity linked to Samsung’s test servers in Korea. The Korean manufacturer is developing Android 17-based One UI 9 for a range of Galaxy devices, having so far limited the public beta to the Galaxy S26 series.
Samsung has not confirmed when it will widen the beta programme to additional handsets. However, indications suggest the two mid-range A-series phones may be next in line to take part before the finished software arrives.
Beta builds spotted for the A-series
A One UI 9 beta build carrying firmware version A356NKSUAZZH5 has appeared for the Galaxy A35, alongside a corresponding build with firmware A566SKSU9ZZHH for the Galaxy A56. Both were identified on Samsung’s test servers in Korea, pointing to preparation work ahead of a wider rollout.
Adding weight to the expectation, Samsung has established a dedicated One UI 9 beta forum for the Galaxy A56 on Samsung Community in India, a step the company typically takes when a device is being lined up for beta enrolment.
Where One UI 9 stands today
At present, the only smartphones running the stable One UI 9 are the Galaxy Z Fold8, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Flip8 and the Galaxy S26 FE, each of which launched with the software already installed.
The Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra have received seven One UI 9 beta updates to date and could move to the stable build in the coming weeks. Once that transition is complete, Samsung is expected to open the One UI 9 beta programme to the Galaxy S25 series and other eligible models.
The appearance of test firmware for the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A56 suggests both devices are being readied for participation in the beta ahead of any final release.
