The Poco X8 Power has been made official, arriving with a huge 10,000 mAh battery and an affordable price tag that undercuts many rivals. The device has launched in India and marks another entry in the growing line of smartphones prioritising battery life above all else.
Poco is a subsidiary of Xiaomi and enjoys strong popularity across many regions worldwide. Its latest handset appears aimed squarely at users who value endurance over flashy design.
A Large Battery in a Slim Body
The standout feature of the Poco X8 Power is its silicon-carbon battery cell, rated at 10,000 mAh. Despite the sizeable capacity, the phone remains relatively slim at 8.65 mm and weighs 229 grams. For reference, the iPhone 17 Pro Max measures 8.75 mm thick and weighs over 230 grams.
Charging is quick, too. The device supports 100W wired charging, and it can also charge other devices at up to 27W via reverse charging. That is a notable contrast to competitors, with the Galaxy S26 Ultra remaining at a 5,000 mAh capacity and the iPhone 17 Pro Max sitting around a similar figure, offering 5,088 mAh on the nano-SIM model and 4,832 mAh on the eSIM variant.
Display, Chipset and Software
The Poco X8 Power features a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. Eye-comfort and gaming features are also included, such as TUV Triple Eye Protection and 3,200Hz touch sampling in Game Turbo mode.
Powering the handset is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, which sits below the performance level of higher-end chips such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Configurations extend up to 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256 GB of storage, with the top variant using the fast UFS 4.1 standard.
On the software front, the Poco X8 Power is promised four operating system upgrades and six years of security patches. In India, it is priced at Rs 35,999, which converts to roughly £300.
