The Pixel 11 Pro XL is the fastest-charging phone Google has ever released, but reaching those top speeds depends on the charger you pair with it. Google has worked to boost charging performance on its top-tier non-foldable handset, moving away from the slower charging that has long characterised the Pixel line.
With its 45W wired charging, Google says the Pixel 11 Pro XL can reach 75% in just 30 minutes. However, achieving that speed requires more than any standard adapter.
The PPS 21-volt catch
To hit the fastest charging speed, the Pixel 11 Pro XL must be paired with a USB Power Delivery (PD) charger that supports Programmable Power Supply (PPS) with a 21-volt profile. Many everyday chargers only reach 20 volts, which limits how quickly the phone can top up.
Testing illustrated the difference clearly. Using a 67W Pixel Flex USB Power Delivery PPS charger supplying power at 21V, the Pixel 11 Pro XL charged at a rate slightly faster than 40W. A second 67W PPS charger supplying power at a lower voltage range peaked at just 25W. In short, without a PD charger that supports PPS at 21V, the fastest charging you will see is 25W.
Chargers that meet the requirement
The Google Store offers adapters that deliver the 21-volt profile needed. The official 45W USB-C charger and the 67W Pixel Flex charger both meet the PPS requirement for the fastest charging speed seen on a Google phone.
The Google 45W USB-Power Charger is priced at around £24 on the Google Store. It supports a 21V PPS profile and will help the Pixel 11 Pro XL reach 75% in only 30 minutes.
The 67W Pixel Flex dual-port charger, priced at around £47, allows two devices to charge at once, though it prioritises Pixel phones. This PD charger also supports PPS 21V charging.
Since Pixel phones do not include a charging adapter in the box, buyers may need to purchase a compatible charger separately. Even a 45W or 65W adapter found elsewhere will only deliver 25W to the Pixel 11 Pro XL unless it is a Power Delivery charger supporting PPS with a 21-volt profile.
