The Neakasa Riko is a new take on the automatic pet feeder, designed specifically for cat owners whose pets prefer wet food. Unveiled at IFA 2026 in Berlin, the device stands apart from most automatic feeders, which are typically limited to dispensing dry food.
Riko is a self-contained smart wet-food maker that prepares meals on demand, or according to a schedule set via the accompanying app, and serves them to your cat at mealtime. The approach is aimed at busy or forgetful owners of cats that favour wet food. While the system is not advertised for dogs, there appears to be no obvious reason it would not work for small canines.
How the Riko Feeder Works
About the size of an average drip coffee maker, the unit houses a compartment for freeze-dried food and a water reservoir. When activated, it rehydrates and mixes the cat food, producing a freshly prepared meal for autonomous feeding. The Riko holds enough food to cover seven days of meals.
This real-time preparation sets it apart from existing wet food feeders. Rival products rely on refrigeration to keep preloaded meals cold until feeding time, and most are limited to two or three meals. The Riko is the first feeder to prepare a cat’s meal on demand rather than storing it in advance.
Availability and Price
The device comes from Neakasa, a Shenzhen-based brand known for its self-cleaning litter boxes and automatic feeders. Until now, the company had no product aimed at owners who feed their cats wet food, leaving a gap in its line-up that the Riko now fills.
The Riko retails for around £155 and is available through Neakasa’s website.
