The Motorola Razr Fold is finally making its way to Verizon, following certification of a version of the handset that supports mmWave 5G. Motorola launched the device in the US in late May, confirming at the time that it would be sold through both T-Mobile and Verizon.
T-Mobile made the phone available straight away, but Verizon had yet to release it. The reason has now become clear: the FCC has only recently certified a variant of the Razr Fold that includes mmWave 5G support. Since Verizon operates the most extensive mmWave 5G coverage in the US, the delay is directly tied to this technical requirement.

Verizon relies heavily on mmWave 5G across its network, so a compatible version of the Razr Fold was essential before the carrier could stock the device. With that model now certified, the phone can proceed towards a wider retail rollout on the network.
